The color red is the only light that does not affect night vision. Any other color not for the blind in a position to see the stars.

If you do not find a red light, you put a drop of red nail polish on clear direction or with several layers of red tissue paper, as someone suggested.

You need a red light for one main reason. Firstly, in order to help your night vision, as it takes between 30 minutes to 1 hour with your night vision to produce their full effect. A flashlight is good, but you must keep. My guess is that you will be on a walk to get there? Get a headlight. You can at REI or GI Joes, but you will pay a high price for a flashlight. The tissue paper is a good idea, but RIP. Instead of tissue paper would be better to use a red balloon and a rubber band or tape. If you want to go cheaply to Wal-Mart, Target, a store. Go to the section of the sport and spotlights. Read the box. Get an LED because the matter was before the broken lamp. The AAA is the best because they are small, and put out the brightest light. The headlights are likely to have a white light and red light, so that the light is good for both, and not to worry a ball, tearing the fabric or a filter that is in decline. I had a lot of lights, which are the best. Handsfree how.

must be red, the desensitization of eyes (in the dark just think a dark room) to prevent it. You should be able to put a red light in the light and tried to REI or GI Joes.

Every shop catering for all outdoor enthusiasts (like GI Joes) or soldier (as Ranger Joe's) sells flashlights come with a red filter. I do not know whether you can buy red bulbs (except Christmas garlands) for a flashlight. Instead, a red filter for flashlights. The goal is that you can use the flashlight to read to or look at the map, but it will not ruin your eyes in low light (Night Vision).

ok, and has answers, it should be for the red. But if you want the easiest, cheapest way to get a red lantern, all you need to do is walk into a store and the red tissue paper. Then take a 3-4 layers and tape over the lantern. I did it before, very simple and works well.
